Sullivan Rep
MBACC’s first Resident Theater Company
Opening June 12th!
Based on the 1934 play of the same name, Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along tells the story of three friends. Spanning 20 years and running backwards chronologically, Merrily explores the fragility of friendship, the meaning of success, and the impact of our decisions on our lives and those in it. Featuring some of Sondheim's hidden gems including 'The Blob,' 'Not a Day Goes By', and 'Our Time', Merrily We Roll Along asks us how far are we willing to go to acheive our dreams, and what we are willing to loose to get there.
Resident Theater Company: Sullivan Rep
Founded by Dan Sullivan, Sullivan Rep aims to create a theatrical home to further support Boston-based theater artists. By adopting a repertory model where performers are contracted for multiple shows within the same season, we hope to foster a deeper sense of community and familiarity between performers and audiences alike. This consistency also allows us to provide a space which supports artists who have pursued alternate career paths, limiting their ability to commit to productions with larger demands on their time.
Sullivan Rep produced Can-Can, the final show of their 2025 program, at MBACC. We look forward to supporting Sullivan Rep as they bring professional theater to East Dedham, with the following 2026 productions:
Band Stand, March 6-21, 2026
Merrily We Roll Along, June 12-27, 2026
And Then There Were None (Fall 2026)
A Christmas Carol (December 2026
