Painting Workshop

Fall Registration Opens 6/29 at 9:00am for Members, and 7/1 at 11:00am for the public.

Description: This workshop is designed for painters at all levels. New painters will be introduced to the basic building blocks of painting, including composition and color theory, while experienced painters will work with the instructor to set their own painting goals. These might include, understanding values, capturing light, or pushing your painting style in a new direction.

A still life will be set up each week as a learning tool but students can also bring their own reference material from which to work. Through demonstrations and class discussions we will tackle the “big issues” of painting in a fun and judgment-free classroom. Acrylic paints are suggested for new painters, but students should feel free to bring the medium(s) of their choice. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to improve your painting skills, this course will provide an opportunity for skill development and practice.
