Fold Forming Metal

Create beautiful organic forms. Leaf earrings or Leaf pendant Time to turn over a new leaf? Create three-dimensional forms from flat sheet metal. You’ll learn the basics of fold forming, an exciting and compelling technique that involves percussion and patience.

School’s out for summer! Join us for a fun one-week youth clay series, Monday-Friday 1:30pm-5:00pm. Students will learn the ins and outs of sculpting in this Hand-Building Class. No experience required. This course is appropriate for youth ages 8-12 years old.

Spring Beginning Jewelry
Instructor: Laurie Savage
In this beginning jewelry making class, students will fabricate a sterling silver band ring, a sterling silver pendant with a bezel-set stone, and a set of bangle bracelets. Learn the basic fundamentals of metalsmithing, while incorporating personal design touches. Multiple soldering and finishing techniques will be covered, and individual design is encouraged. A materials fee of $100 is payable to the instructor on the first day of the class.

Spring Directed Open Studio: Mondays
Instructor: Laurie Savage
Open to intermediate students and above. Bring your ideas of what you would like to create in this hands-on open studio-style class. Students will spend one-on-one time with Laurie as she helps you advance your skill set as you navigate from an idea to project completion. Students should bring the materials they intend to use, such as metal, stones, and any preferred hand tools.

Hoops, rings, bracelets

In this two day workshop you will design and form hoops of all kinds. Learn to create beautiful and unique forms of connection. Do you want to make hoop earrings, a ring or two? Perhaps a pendant. You could even make a bracelet with the skills taught in this workshop. Make your own one-of-a-kind jewelry. Students in this two day workshop will be introduced to and practice cutting, filing, soldering, forming, texturing and finishing.
